Not sure whether you can have boudoir portraits taken?

September 28, 2020

I have heard all the excuses.

I need to lose 10 more pounds.
I wish I had better skin.
I am not that comfortable in front of the camera.

It’s totally ok to be nervous. Give yourself a break.

Truthfully, it’s fine to be outside of your comfort zone. This is where all the fun stuff happens in life.

But having boudoir portraits taken, and the decision-making journey behind it is a topic not often spoken about in public.

Here is how to decide.

Embrace the nerves.

I am here to tell you that you are unique and you should embrace it.

Instead of comparing yourself to supermodels, that were posing for cameras most of their lives. Compare yourself to someone in your body category.

There is no point in comparing yourself to Gisele Bündchen. It’s simply unrealistic. She is tall and has a body type that not every woman has.

Comparing yourself to a person like her is going to create an impossible standard for yourself.

In real life, we do compare ourselves to others. We do.

If you must compare yourself, find someone in your body type category, and aspire to create what they have created. Instead of comparing yourself to someone who is biologically built differently to you.

There is someone who is rocking it where you are. Find that person and make them your hero.

If you’ve ever too young, too old, too fat, too something… Be kind to yourself.

You are perfect as you are.

You don’t need to have any experience of being in front of the camera. Because I have a perfect solution for you: the wardrobe is key!

The entire fashion industry exists to make you look and feel pretty. So let’s take advantage of it!

Together we’ll pick something to make you look phenomenal and make this experience about you.
